A lot of content on LinkedIn might seem like AI slop, and now, you\u2019ll be able to report those posts. As part of a series of updates to reduce the volume of AI slop on the platform, LinkedIn is introducing an actual button that lets you flag a post as something that \u201cSeems like AI slop.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The new feature is part of a broader push to reduce the volume of apparent AI slop on the platform. AI detector Pangram recently found that 41 percent of longform LinkedIn posts were flagged as being completely generated by AI, as reported by 404Media<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cAI slop is a top priority for all of us,\u201d chief product officer Hari Srinivasan says in a post. \u201cWe really care about this.\u201d In addition to the button to report a post as seemingly being AI-generated, LinkedIn is also ramping up new classifiers to identify \u201cif a post is AI-slop or generally low-quality content,\u201d which will \u201creduce the amount of AI slop you might see in suggested content and content from outside your network.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n I\u2019m currently seeing the new report button in the three-dots menu on posts. When I click it, LinkedIn hides the post and shows a message thanking me for my feedback.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The new button will help LinkedIn \u201ctune our models and make better feeds,\u201d Srinivasan says. The company is also testing a way to show people that other users feel their posts come across as inauthentic or that they include heavy use of AI.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n In addition, LinkedIn is removing a feature that used AI to \u201cenhance\u201d a post and will replace it with a \u201cfeature that proofreads your words, but does not change your voice,\u201d according to Srinivasan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
